Welcome to Wild about Words

I am a freelance proofreader and copy editor with particular expertise in working with a range of written pieces including business plans, project evaluations, CVs, applications, newsletters, marketing literature, websites, essays and short stories.  I offer professional proof checking and light editing services working from my home in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.

I have a certificate in proofreading from Chapterhouse Publishing, the UK’s leading editorial training organisation for the freelance market and a voracious appetite for books; I have had to self inflict a ‘one in, one out’ policy at home for fear of running out of space.  I am passionate about lifelong learning and am currently completing a TEFL qualification, furthering my interest in the English language and gaining skills I can use now and develop in the future.

If you’d like to know more about how I could help you, or you’d like a quotation for a piece of work please contact me by emailing sophiewild1@gmail.com, via Twitter @wildaboutwords or by calling me on 07970 591644.

  1. Hello Sophie, I am a fellow proofreader and I just wanted to drop by and say hello. I enjoy meeting people in the proofreading field who are as passionate as myself. I came across you on Twitter (followed!) and felt I had to stop by. Hope to chat some time, good luck with everything!

    • Hi Leigh, thank you for taking the time to comment; it’s nice to virtually meet you and thanks also for following on Twitter. You have a very elegant and welcoming website and I wish you all the very best with your venture! Sophie
